The Beehive...

I'm in love with the beehive hairstyle at the moment. It's a sixties hairstyle so of course I desire it (vintage whoop!) It is just such an easy way to do elegant hair... Little bit of backcombing, some pinning, add a side sweep (if you wish...) and your done! It is my ultimate updo this year and I hope it'll be yours too... what do you think of it? Do you've your own personal twist? Or is there another updo that you'll be rocking this year?

Comfy, Frenchie...

Who says being comfy can't be chic... Ban the tracksuit!!! Burn the trainers! Jeggings are comfy and still totally stylin... Brogues are so comfortable and still add super chicness to any outfit... Casual certainly does not have to be boring. I really like this outfit and it is perfect for going into college, getting my work done and coming home and lounging on the auld sofa...

Ephemera....

Here are just a few pages and the cover from the book I had to make... The brief was to create a book based on the idea of ephemera... My story line was about the second between when a bullet leaves a gun and when it hits the target/victim... About all the emotion that rushes through you and how it builds up so fast and then is gone on an instant... (I had to shoot a gun to know how it felt... twas a truly exhilarating experience.)

College outfit...

I just thought the outfit I wore today was very casual chic... Comfy yet cool... I look so messy with the scarf and the hair doing whatever they chose but I still love it!

Eye catching not hair raising...

I always feel like sometimes people are afraid to wear beautiful, big, eccentric things on top of their head... I used to be... but now I'm not... I love hair accessories and its a great way to doll up a casual outfit or top off a glam one. If you buy one thing this month let it be a quirky and elegant styled hair piece... These particular beauties are from urbanoutfitters.com.

The first pair of earrings are from asos.com and the second set are from modcloth.com. I only wish I could buy them both... What do you think? You likey? If not, what are you sporting in your ears at the mo?

Sun comes up, shades come out...

Right, I know we've still got this horrible weather and it is the middle of January but I figured I should purchase shades in hopes of better weather... and I think I made a good choice with these ones... I got them on ebay (love it!!!) and they were dead cheap and they are very cool and very eighties!

Old Shots...

These are just a few photos that I took last year either for college or for fun... Let me know what you think...

A splash of flowers...

I just think these are so cool... Found them during a browse through asos.com. I've been looking for some tapered style trousers... I will roll up the legs slightly or crop them though (but only slightly...) They are just adorable and I think they can easily be dressed up or down... What do you think?????

Rainy Day, Sunny Outfit...

Yesterday was such a horrible, cold, wet day... So I felt a little bit of colour was in order to brighten up my spirits. I love this dress, was a gift from my cousin from Awear and I teamed it with a loverly yellow cardi and my brogues. It's sort of a bright, granny, floral chic...

A thanks is in order....

I seriously have to thank Blanaid Hennessy from blanaid.com for her acknowledgment of my blog on hers... I can't thank her enough! She was my inspiration to start a blog so you can imagine how thrilled I am... YAY!!!

I can't decide...

I want these shoes (for the summer, I know I'm starting early...) They are from the fantabulous Topshop.I just don't know what colour to choose.......... I think they look so seventies which is such an absolutely wonderful thing (if I can't have vintage I will settle for something that looks just as good as!) Either of these shoes will work so well with any summer outfit be it shorts, skinnies or a floaty dress. Also I think I'd wear them in the winter to with some thick opaque tights... Which would you pick? I'll let you know which ones I decide to purchase...

Images from Topshop.com...

You pin her down, I'll steal her clothes...

Alexa Chung is one of those girls that must always be on these fashion blogs because of her utterly amazing wardrobe... I feel her style is very unique yet understated... I love all these outfits and will try to recreate these outfits at some point... Obviously adding my own distinct mark to them... It is always very important to do this... These images must only ever be inspiration.... Be your own stylist...

Who says you shouldn't mix patterns...?

Just a little post to show that you can mix prints together... Don't be afraid to, my only rule is make sure there is one colour that runs throughout the outfit... Here mine is navy...

Skirt: River Island

Fashion illustrations....... with a bit of a twist...

Another artist that I adore is the illustrator Andrea Kett... Her work is so gothic meets satire and I just love it... I have never seen anything like them, my sister introduced her work to me with a paper bag that my Christmas present came in and it was love at first sight... I beg you to go and look up more of her work.... GO NOW!

If I could afford...

I am really loving the Chanel spring/summer collection this year... I think the dress shapes are lovely and the muted colours are so delicate... I think the two black outfits are so gossip girl... I like it a lot! The images are from style.com...

The Glamorous Artist...

My favourite artist is Tamara deLempicka so I just had to put up some of her work... As you can see she was such an elegant and glamorous woman and her work striking and magnificent... I especially love how she painted curls, they look like they're made of metal... Love her and her work too...

Diamond Bows...

I bought this head band from River Island before Christmas and I just felt I had to but it up because it's just so pretty... It really is something that will make you sparkle on a dull day... I love it...

Keeping warm...

Some people love it... Some hate it... I would feel bad if I owned real fur but this one is 100% fake so no one can judge me and make me cry... It's super cosy and super chic and I feel I will living in it for sometime... I bought it in a second hand shop in Carlow...

Fur: Rockabellas (probably spelled wrong)

My love of Vintage...

I've a love for vintage... Ok it could be an obsession more than a love... Anyway these beautiful vintage earrings are clip ons and were a gift from my boyfriends mother (she knows me so well...)

Be shocking yet sensitive, final shot (hopefully)...

This is (hopefully) my finished poster for my Human Trafficking brief... Let me know what you think...

Be shocking yet sensitive, practice shots...

In my Visual Communications class we were given a brief that asked us to create a sensitive yet impactful poster for one of several issues. The catch was that the poster had to show a metaphor for the chosen issue. I chose Human Trafficking and my metaphor was a lace top. The lace top represents a girl that has been bought, used and then discarded. These images show the progress of my work.
