Tis Cold...

So what is the deal with the weather?!?!?! Tis sunny and lovely one day and the next its a bloody blizzard! The boyfriend and I went for a drive in the car last night and I managed to capture this image on me auld camera.... Snow may be cold and wet and so annoying but man it is so so pretty! I had to wear my fur which I thought I wouldn't wear again til next winter....

Could have used a hat like this one last night! My friend Carol made this and I just had to mention her and her talent. The girl crochets faster than any granny I know! And look how cute and bohemian... Totally gorgeous and effortlessly cool. And the buttons are soooo cute! If you likey let me know... I might be able to get you a good deal he he...

Lovely, lovely, lovely...

I was browsing through my daily dose of blogs (not much else to do on a lazy Sunday) and I came across these delightful images by Tim Walker on Laura Cunningham's blog... I just had to share them with you.... they are a mixture of fashion and fantasy and I think they are just beautiful! Everything in these images are so whimsical and interesting and so dreamlike. I am dying to recreate the dress lanterns from the last image. Wouldn't it be a beautiful way to light a night garden party? Let me know what you think? Do you have a favourite? Please share!

Purchase 2

Forgive the appauling photo of mise. So purchase number two is this absolutely divine lipstick from MAC. It is called Cyber and is to die for. I made a post about wanting a colour like this and I took the plunge and bought myself some... It is so silly I know but I feel very daring when I wear it. Bought on Ebay for a tenner (including postage and packaging). There was some woman who had shop (on Ebay) selling cosmetics so I gave it a shot. I know most people would be iffy about buying make up on Ebay but it came in the MAC box and wasn't used at all. Also a wonderful thing about this lippy is that it smells of chocolate! I don't know why, I read the ingredients and nothing looked cocoa related... In the photo it looks more red but it is quite purple-ish! Not something I would wear all the time but certainly gonna be brought out when I need a show stopping look! Let me know what you think...

Purchase 1

I decided to number all my fashion purchases (I don't know why, sure why not eh?). So purchase number one is these gorgeous pair of shoes that I got off Ebay! I lurve them to pieces! They were less than twenty quid (bargain!) and are made by Love Label. Ages ago I wanted to get these brown wedges from Topshop but since I live on a students budget I just was not able to do so. However, I found these loverly alternatives... They are very seventies which is why I fell for them and super comfy. I need somewhere to go now so the world can appreciate them as much as I do...

Drum roll please...

A huge and giddy thank you to the loverly and adorable Erin from My Wildflower Wardrobe who has awarded me the sunshine award! My first award! Woot! The Last Two Days...

Ok the last two days were pretty hectic in college. Yesterday was such a difficult day because I was doing a stop motion animation and lets just say it left me a little em frustrated (putting it politely)... But at least I had my loverly WW2 outfit so at least I was chic while tearing my hair out. After college the girls and I went to The AIT Stars in their Eyes show which was for the Make a Wish foundation. I wore out my red lippy to be in keeping with the rest of my 40s outfit. My friends Heather and Kathy were in it as the Veronicas! They were amazing and stunning! They didn't win but they were so good I was so proud!
Today in college was much better. Did good work with my animation and my friend Emma were messing around and created new bird shaped eyelashes he he! Lady GaGa eat your heart out! That bird is really on my eyelid...

Eckersley...

Just thought I'd post my latest work from college... The two images that are above are not mine (unfortunately), they were created by the great designer Tom Eckersley (found on Google). My task was to create a poster for a movie from the sixties of my choice in the style of Eckersley, especially his work from the sixties... The movie I chose was "To Kill a Mockingbird" which is a movie (and book) that I just love and I enjoyed designing a poster for it... Here is my final piece, it needs some minor tweaks but that won't be done for another month or so... What do you think?

Floaty Valentino...

Was tipped by my cousin to have a looksie at the Valentino collection for spring/summer (I feel ashamed that I haven't looked at it yet - and I call myself a fashion blogger!) Anyway after that personal flogging I would like to show you my favourite pieces from this collection and of course you know why I love them: chiffon, nudey/pastel colours, short hemlines, heavy lace and, big bows! Tis a gorgeous collection...

Vintage do...

I found this video on http://www.retrochick.co.uk/ that shows how to do vintage hair rolls... Here is my attempt... No where near as good as hers but I'll get better with practice. I really love this look and will go so well with my red lippy... :)

Emma Watson in Italian Vogue...

I'm so glad that I stumbled upon these page spreads of Emma Watson for Italian Vogue... I'm not sure when these photos were published but to be honest I don't care. I just love this photo shoot! The sets and the clothes have this charm of a era gone by (with a little bit of Skins feel and "poor little rich girl looking for her life" air thrown in for good measure.) I want the entire wardrobe for this photo shoot and a few of those candelabras too!

Last Minute Going Out...

So I randomly decided to go out last night with the girls at the last minute. So I got ready in twenty minutes... I think I did pretty well. What I loved about this outfit was how comfy it was yet still incredibly chic! Went for dark, smokey eyes and and messy "I'm just too cool to care" hair. Also I just love the shoes, the are so funky and different (and we all know how I love that!)

Jacket: Stole from mother (vintage)
Top: Awear
Leggings: Penneys
Shoes: Timeless/Grahams of Carlow

Giant Florals...

Just a quick post on probably my favourite skirt (all my skirts are my favourite!) Anyway, I got it two summers ago and I'm still wearing it because it is simply beautiful... I've lost weight since last summer so I had to take it in (which I'm delighted about...) I just love everything about it: The colour, the cut, the pattern... Plus when I twirl it flies out around me (I'm still a little girl at heart.) That's all, just wanted to rant about my pretty skirt :)

Shirt/Tights: Penneys
Skirt: Warehouse
Pomps: Topshop

Oscar dresses...

Instead of doing work, like we should have today in college, my friends and I decided to pick our favourite dress of the glorious night. There were "oohs" and "aahs" and there were also a few "dear god whys?" And here are our top five (in no particular order...) I love them all!
