Boo...
Happy Halloween everyone! Today is of course Halloween but I am not doing a damn thing since I have done the Halloween thing nearly two week ago... I may watch a horror movie on the telly (I wonder what's on?) but that would be it.
I am seriously hoping I will have no trick or treaters tonight! I am in a college estate but you never know there might be a couple of chancers...
Hope you all enjoy the day no matter what you're up to!

Looking Well...
Last Sunday was my friends 21st birthday. Above is the birthday girl in question. Tracey is a dear friend and an avid follower of this blog (which is so sweet of her). She had a little house party and then we all scampered off into town for a good knees up!
Anyway, the reason she is on the blog is because of this wonder of a dress wrapped around her! Isn't it just stunning!? I am so jealous she has it and that it would never look as good on me as it does on this young lady... grrrr
And that bag! Well of course it was amazing because I bought it for her (he he). I was worried the knuckle duster clutch would be too mad an item but thankfully she loved it as did her mother and everyone else at the party! I kept spotting it being passed around.

Now an outfit post would not be complete without me posing my bottom off! In the bathroom of the pub I'll have you know...
My aim was "New York effortless cool" and I think I pulled it off (hopefully)! I dared to wear leather leggings as trousers and I'm so glad I did. I know I have worn them loads but never with anything as short or tight! I read somewhere that "leather trousers were not for the faint hearted or thick thighed" and that made me more determined to wear them...

Quick question...
Spotted these outfits by Maison Martin Margiela on the lovely blog Elle of the Ball and just had to put this question to you my stylish readers.
Would you wear this? Not as a costume or for a dare... Just wear it normally because you actually like it!
I know I wouldn't! What person in their right mind would assume that a square would be flattering for a feminine figure???? I am a fan of pushing the boat but come on!
But the pattern on the first "dress" is beautiful, pity about about the shape...

Graphic Monday
Forgive me on the uncreative post name but sure it does the job.
Anyway, I have noticed quite a few blogs devoting a day to a special post and I feel I should do this for graphic design. It is the course I am doing after all and I do want this blog do deal with graphic design as well as my obsession with fashion. Also it gives me a good excuse to jump head first into the imagery I find and learn more about the world in which I now live in. My lecturers are always going on about how being familiar with this kind of stuff is very important for us. Do forgive me if you have no interest in it. But you never know you might find a pretty picture to inspire you in some way (and that's always nice).
Each Monday I hope to post about something to do with graphic design, a designer, a movement, a magazine spread or maybe just a logo...
I found these images on Graphic Exchange and I just thought they were just so simple and raw. I love them. The owner of the blog took these in a letterpress workshop in the Design College of Australia.
Enjoy them.

Something wicked this way comes...
Halloween is literally around the corner and last Monday all the design students of AIT decided to hit the streets fancy dress style...
The three fellows above kept their costume a secret, creating much hype. I told one of them if I was impressed they were going on the blog. And boy was I impressed! This photo does not do these costumes justice. Many many hours went into these costumes and I feel it was well worth it! The guys behind the masks are Mikey Ryan (Batman), Ray O'Donovan (Joker) and Gary Keating (Robin).
Fair play to ya lads! You have a lot to live up to next year!
My costume was not as amazing but I was told it was rather fashionable (whoop!). I was Ringleader of the Dead Show (which just meant I was a slightly scarier version of a regular Ringleader). Emma was Twiggy and Heather was Willy Wonka. Apparently Heather and I looked hilarious having a little conversation together in the nightclub... I suppose two girls in top hats in a nightclub is pretty funny, at least odd anyway.
I backcombed the shizz out of my hair which hurt later on but was totally worth it and I decided to go completely mad with the eyeshadow (lets face it I am not going to get away with that eye make up any other night of the week). I felt cool, yes cool!
Twas a great night and everyone looked deadly!
If I need to go out again this Halloween I shall wear this again sans top hat (twas slightly awkward). If anyone asks I am a demented and slightly glamourous zombie waiter or something...

Familarity can be a good thing...
Chris Benz
Erdem
Was checking out some of the runways on style.com and I remembered how much I loved the collections of Chris Benz and Erdem. So I decided to look them up and I was pleased with what I saw. Very pleased. As usual both looks were jam packed with sophistication and just a hint of quirkiness (what more could you ask for).
I just love the little bit of ladylike chic that is popping up everywhere at the moment: Louis Vuitton, Prada and now these... It is nice to see. I wish I could dress like this more but I would look like a right auld ninny going around in college with this kind of clobber on me.
*Sigh* Oh well, when I am all grown up and super sophisticated I can dress like this as much as I want!

Where the boho hobo sits...
Yesterday was an odd day for clothes. I wore fur, converse and a turban hair band... Did it work? Well I don't know but I was willing to give it a try! Besides it was quite a cold day so at least it was somewhat suitable for college. And sure isn't it completely practical to wear converse into college (with our without ribbons for laces).
I feel its that time of year when you put away your jackets and root out your nice winter coats, though my lovely fur collar is helping to keep me nice and toasty.
I do love a good top coat!

Shoe Dilemma...
Ok so here's the story... I was on the search for a simple (ish) pair of black heels, you know the ones that work for practically everything. I have loads of black heels but none that would work well with loads of outfits. So as I was on my quest my mother said she'd buy the pair I wanted as part of my Christmas present (I know it's early but ssh). So I found this pair (see above): Miss KG by Kurt Geiger. It would be an understatement to say that I was excited about getting these shoes (I randomly yelled KURT GEIGER SHOES to my poor boyfriend while in the night club that night). And they were on sale!
However, I had loads of problems getting these shoes, I had to call Kurt Geiger to confirm the order but I couldn't get through so they cancelled my order and then I got an email of the customer relations supervisor apologising and offering me a refund on the delivery if I would like to reorder the shoes. Of course I wanted to but they were sold out by then... She then offered to search their stores for another pair (she was really going out of her way- twas nice).
But the plot thickens...
I found the shoes in my usual size in Debenhams and they were really tight! Painfully tight! Will the next size up fit?
In other news, I also want these Kurt Geiger babies! Yum!

So I sought after other heels because I don't know if I should bother the nice lady searching for the next size up when I don't know if they'll fit... I do like the three I found but not as much as the first pair and I just really wanna own a pair of Kurt Geiger heels.
What should I do?

Its all pants...
Now I do consider myself a fully paid up member of the skirts and dresses club, but I do like a good pair of trousers (and leggings) and I am currently lusting after these three pairs. I love each pair equally and would be more than happy to have any of them on me.
The first pair are these paneled treggings from River Island and they were the first pair that I noticed. The are made of a stiff enough material so I would love to wear them as proper trousers (I think I do that with most of my leggings now). When I first saw them I thought a crisp white shirt, a boyfriend blazer and stilettos. Kind of like a sexy suit.
The second pair are these gorgeous wide leg trousers from Topshop. I think they look so unique and stylish. They have an old world charm to them and would look beautiful with a silk fitted blouse and a fascinator/beret and dark coloured lipstick. Very Dita!
The last pair I actually tried on last week and even though they were a wee bit tight I still loved them! Rolled to the ankle and paired with a tux jacket, stilettos and blinging earrings! Oh I want! They are from Oasis...
I am in a trouser loving mood at the mo, I only really have one pair. Must get more!

Graphic Exchange...
I was recommended a blog by a lecturer to help with my research and it is such a beautiful site... It is called Graphic Exchange. It is full of different designs, imagery, type and packaging... If you have any interest in graphic design or photography have a look at this site. Well worth it!
