Turban-tastic...

Cover of Qvest found on Fashion gone Rogue. I bet you can guess why I love this...

Yes! It is all wonderfully vintage-y! The turban, the red lips, the mascara, the turquoise sky. It all feels very Evil under the Sun. And I love it. This is how I would love to look on the beach (possibly with a few curls popping out from under the turban). I do think my bathing suit lends itself to wearing a turban with it. It is turquoise with a sweet-heart neckline (what else?) and a big bow at the back. Sure, any excuse to own a turban will do.

Ps: Sorry about the dreadfully tacky title. I couldn't resist!

Relax... its's a Saturday

Neither fashion or design related... Just sheer brilliance in my opinion.

The middle is definitly my opinion of true love. Who wants a rose when you can have a nerf battle?

Enjoy!

Little Jill...

I came across this collection on Fashion Gone Rogue today. It is Jill Stuart's SS11 collection and I have to say it's pretty fab. I will admit that until today I had never heard of Jill Stuart but I will keep an eye out for her in the future. I'm liking her taste...

This whole collection just seems girly with a dash of masculine structure. Muted shades against a strong blue-ish black add to the sophistication of the pieces and floaty fabrics are contrasted with suede ankle boots. It is a pretty collection. It is a striking collection. My favourites have to be the first two. Something very sexy about that fitted suit and who wouldn't want that dress?! But then again I am a sucker for accordian pleats.

Also am loving the model's eye make up. Love that glossy bronze!

A few new things...

No Graphic Monday this week since it is my RAG week. I am not thinking about work this week (apart from my thesis... grrrr). So how about an outfit post instead? Huh? Yeah. Knew you'd be fine with that.

Most of this outfit is new actually. Only the jumper is old (and quite old, got that before coming to college). The trousers and loafers were bought out of my birthday money as well a gorgeous tan bag, those palazzo pants, beautiful wedges and an ever so pretty blue blouse (will be wearing that out Wednesday night so I'll do an outfit post). I think I have spent my money well and I am confident they will get worn a lot. Sure this is my third time to wear these trousers in just over a week.

The pants are to help me move away from jeggings. I am so very tired of them and these trousers are the same as jeggings without all that stretchy nonsense, they are fitted. I am looking forward to dressing these babies up!

The loafers are brand new, just bought today. So comfy with a good, sturdy sole (nothing annoys me more than a flimsy sole). I also love the colour, not quite blue but not quite grey. I have been needing to buy new flats, most of my old ones are now too tired and worn out to be taken seriously. Also bought a dotey nude ones with faceted baubles on the toe. Pretty!

I may just shop too much...

Become a Bird of Paradise...

I don't wear a lot of bright colour. I do love colour but usually on other people and in my work and on myself from time to time but it really does depend on the article of clothing.

But I do love brightly colourful shoes! Oh how I do! So colourful are my shoes at times I have no idea what to wear them with.

Anyway, here are some screen shots from a "Kurt Geiger- making the video" thingy. It's their new SS collection 2011. Aren't the shoes divine? The answer is yes! My particular favourite are the first pair. Those massive multicoloured wedges. Oooh I want them. So badly...

Went to go find them on the Kurt Geiger website to see how much damage they would do to my wallet but they weren't to be found anywhere. Twas a tad annoying but I am hoping they arrive soon so I can drool some more.

Go on Kurt, make it right and send me a pair. Size 5, cheers!

Wiggle that skirt of bunches...

I feel like I haven't done an outfit post in so long... The pure scandal of it all! Remember a week ago or so I was searching for a comfy, loose dress for college, well this sort of fits the brief. Now, when I got it (€16.50 bargain!!!) never thought it would be great for college (since it is so wonderfully fussy) but I wore it today into college and had a fairly busy day and the dress was so comfortable. I didn't have to keep fixing it or anything, though I was trying to keep it clean while doing stencil prints (white coats and badly-made blue tissue pinnies galore!)

But everyone told me I looked lovely and fancy one of my friends said she would totally wear it out at night and one of the technicians asked me where was I off to all dressed up. It could have been the shoes but I don't know if it is a lazy/busy day dress or just a pretty dress that is comfy... I'm thinking the latter.

The search continues.

It is a pretty dress though... the cowl neck and button detail are really unique and that swishy/bunchy skirt is so fun. The skirt is causing me to subconsciously wiggle my bottom according to one of my friends who was behind my on the stairs. Is that even a good thing though?

Graphic Monday...

So I decided to mix things up on Graphic Monday... Every so often (when they allow me) I am going to showcase the work of my classmates. After all they are a talented bunch!

First up is Miss Emma Kilduff and her "Flatlands" project. I would go into it but it is so very complicated and I really don't think you need the back story to appreciate her work. The colours are so rich and the typeface is good and chunky! This is not the finished piece of course but I thought these were so gorgeous that I had to put them up (I will put up the final article once it is done). I cannot wait to see it when it is completed...

Did I mention I'm dead jealous!?

Also this is not Emma's first time on a blog for her work. The lovely Blaubushka posted the photos Emma took of me for the Blogging for Boobs campaign. She'll go far!

Oh to explain the last photo... Em... that's Finch and I posing. I need a lot of work! But he has got his smize down!

Cold sun keeps me hopeful...

Asos

Topshop

Yesterday I woke up to the sun shining through my window and I got that ever too familiar feeling of summer. It is awhile away but the feeling is slowly seeping into my thawing bones.

And so I am think of my summer wardrobe, which is always good in my head but never fully materialises (hopefully it will this year). At the moment I'm dreaming of palazzo pants, chunky wooden sandals, full skirted shirt dresses, flares, raybans, leather belts, muted lipstick, floppy hats, fedora hats, leather/suede shorts and muted colours such as burnt orange, camel, khaki, white, grey, petrol blue and dusky pink.

Too much???

I'm lusting after these two pair of shorts at the moment. Materials are divine, Cuts are beautiful and the colours are yummy yummy! I think they'd work with both faded band tees and converse and also with silk blouses and platform sandals.

Am I too early to be wanting my summer wardrobe? Does anyone else get bored of their seasonal wardrobes and die to get into the next season? Right now I want my summer wardrobe but come September I will want my chunky knits, opaque tights and leather boots.

Maybe I'm just fickle...

Em....... drool!

A print to float around in...

This Alexander McQueen Gown that Mila Kunis wore to the SAG Awards stunned and amazed me... It is so beautiful! So floaty, so soft, so fun yet so very elegant. Obviously I wish I could have the real mccoy but I do not have the bank balance needed to support that sort of wardrobe.

But I came across Topshops new Unique  SS11 collection and it does have the same floaty, summery, fun vibe that I get when look at the Alexander McQueen dress. It's fun, it's fresh and has a slight "apocalyptic summer" feel to it (if that makes any sense). Obviously more expensive than the regular Topshop items, they are still a damn sight cheaper than any designer label.

My favourite item is that red skirt! I wanna throw it on with a black body and some seriously demented black stilettos and a gold clutch and make my hair really really big!

Picking at daisies...

These are just a few screen shots from a photo shoot Asos did with Daisy Lowe. It has this whole chilled out seventies vibe (and as you know that is my trend of choice this year so I likey... a lottie!

I want that green dress! It shall be mine! I think more exclamation points are needed! (!!!!!!!!) Thats enough... The colour is just stunning, the shape is divine, just gimme... please? Also that patterned blouse is so cute... If you wanna buy one seventies style piece just get that, and a big hat (you always need the hat).

Also on a nerdy design point, I love the type in the first picture. It is clean, white, pretty...

Loverly.

Birthday Shoes...

It is my 21st birthday today and among the amazing gifts that I received so far (which includes Raybans, an old watch and a gold wish bone necklace) I got these off my boyfriend. I was given them on Sunday but was forbidden to open them until this morning. I knew what I was getting (because I picked them out) but I was so excited and nervous about opening them, I was so afraid that they weren't going to fit. But they do!

He asked me back in December what I wanted and I yelped "shoes!" So I was sent on a mission to find a pair for him to get me (he wasn't going to attempt to pick a pair for - which was probably a smart move). At first I was going to get something smart, sophisticated, sexy... possibly nude/peach, satin, a killer heel. Something I could where with anything and everything.

But then I said "fudge that!" and decided I wanted these beautifully mad shoes! I feel like a modern day Marie Antoinette in them (except without all the sadness).

They are a perfect gift! What says I love you more than a pair of green tinsel shoes???

I love them...

Thank you x
