pretty underwear...

Kelly Brook Collection/New Look

s/s 2012 New Look

s/s 2012 New Look

I am all for having pretty underwear. Nothing makes a gal feel more awesome than when she has got some snazzy underpants on! Since I was 16 I have strived to keep myself always in good underwear and it was always something my mother instilled in me and my sisters. So when I saw New Look's Kelly Brook collection and then their upcoming spring/summer collection I was little excited. For one thing they are so pretty and for another there are some GORGEOUS high waisted knickers thrown in their (which I have already bought!)

Sadly I am too big for their bras but not by much. Their sizes range from a 32B to 36F which I think is a great range considering the prices which are between €14.99 and €17.99 for the bras alone. The Kelly Brook collection is on sale now (I should know I have bought some already!) and the spring/summer collection is available in early February, just in time for my birthday!

blue friday...

This week has been long and very busy... Since it's nearing the weekend and the sun is out on this brisk day I thought I'd be a little bright myself with this gorgeous blue number. I quite like pairing this dress with all black. Usually I would wear it with red and maybe yellow, so I thought for a change I could go back to my trusty black and some chunky knits. Think it keeps it suitable for this time of year...

I am all of a sudden craving colour, I think it's due to the nearing approach of spring. How is everyone else fairing in this slight transition period?

keeping warm...

Here's another video that I did with RTE over the Christmas period. This time I had to talk about what I wear when I am trying to keep the winter chills at bay. Had so much fun shooting this so I hope you enjoy it. Promise me you'll be nice.

yellow sorbet...

So pastels are in and I am a teeny bit excited about it. The neon look was really not me and even though I did love the bold colour blocking I don't think I fully embraced it. But pastels... Pastels I can get on board with. The first pastel colour I want to play around with is lemon yellow. Yellow is one of my favourite colours and I do have a few key yellow pieces so I have no need to go out and purchase lemon clothes (shame really). But if I did I would be keeping my eyes on these pieces (especially those lemon brogues, oh drool!)

Thought I'd share these with you... Super cute little designs, simple and with a lovely colour scheme. My favourite is the "Bon Jour" one, how dotey! Found them on More Design Please which is a beautiful website. Check it out!

Thanks Emma for introducing the website to me...

I hear paisley is in this year...

When I was thinking about the trends that were on the table for this year, paisley was one that I was gonna let pass me by. I just think it doesn't have much staying power. But then as I was getting dressed yesterday I came across this scarf on top of my wardrobe. I bought it a few years ago in a vintage shop (which is sadly no longer there). And what do you know it has a paisley pattern on it! And I like it... I remember buying it and my boyfriend couldn't understand why. Boys eh?

So at least now if I feel like having a bit of paisley in my life I don't have to part with any money. Love when that happens...

Also thought I'd show you my latest food addiction... Homemade cheesy pinwheel that I made from homemade pizza dough and cheese. It is delicious, so so filling and surprisingly easy to make! A great way to spend a friday...

wish I was wearing #8

I am finally finished with semester one... Thesis and portfolio have been handed in and I am craving a fresh start. I am craving soft colours, pretty dresses, little cardigans and cute rings. I am craving spring. I want to banish the stuffiness of the past few weeks and leap into the next semester of college with a clean perspective.

I am growing tired of the winter tones... It is time for a change.

Dianna Argon for NYLON

NeverLazy
Dying for some pretzels while working away on my portfolio, dreaming of purchasing this pair of Irregular Choice when they come back in stock (here's hoping), loving the idea of covering my walls in frames filled with everything, digging the sexy sixties vibe from the NYLON magazine (cat flicks and beehives were had today) and oozing over photos from the new issue of NeverLazy.

blinging it up and stressing it...

My thesis was handed up today and I am ploughing through my portfolio. So much work to do but thankfully a good bit done too. Luckily I have a bit of bling to keep me looking bright even if I am not feeling it this week. Wearing it with (almost) everything!

Next Monday cannot come fast enough...

dusty gold...

One of my few sale purchases. This gold-ish top I got for a fiver in Penneys. Love this cut of top, great for a lazy day like today. It just hangs off you so well and the gold makes me feel a little less sloppy. A wee bit see through but with a black vest no one is any the wiser... Believe it or not I haven't worn these shoes in a while, they kind of got a break for the Christmas (they had been working so hard so they deserved it).

Now back to finishing off my thesis... tis due Tuesday. Have it done thankfully, am just fixing up the pictures and little other things like that. Oh the joys!

A Beautiful Mess

Dreaming of life after the thesis while I sit here... typing, always typing. I'm looking into 2012 and I feel excited... a big year ahead. I'll be growing up. College is insanely difficult at the moment and I'll be finishing up this year. I can't help but think what life will be like after college.

Right now I dream of beautiful work spaces, fussy and frilly underwear, old-fashioned posters of not so old movies (Eckersley would be proud), the beautifully cute bows of Lola Dee, listening to the smokey and sultry sound of Lana Del Rey and, dressing like I was born in the wrong decade.

shining practicality...

London Rebel via Asos

Now I know I have mastered the art of "everyday heel wearing" but I can't help but resist a good flat when it comes along. Especially when it is a shiny pair of loafers. Surely they are a practical purchase, yes I think they just might be... After all I am heading into my final semester of college which is surely to be my most difficult. Many nights up til God knows when, rushing around looking for paper, getting pieces printed, making prototypes, photographing, printing... It will be a busy few months for me.

Ones needs to be practical...
