Garbage Dress
This week I want to be dancing in gold glitter and suede, eating as many of these chocolate and peanut butter brownies as I can, staring at this beautiful print (oh how I want to stick it in a frame and love it completely), dressing to match the awakening of spring in this stunner of a dress and rocking the victory rolls like Zana Bayne of Garbage Dress.

On another note, who thought a PVC dress could look so demure???

oscar monday...

A stunner in red chiffony goodness...

Such and interesting cut...

My favourite of the night...

Daring to be draped in that much velvet but she rocks it!

CANNOT go wrong in a McQueen...

Emma's favourite of the night...
This week Graphic Monday is being replaced with Oscar Monday! Was trawling through the photos this morning with a buddy of mine (Hi Emma!) trying to figure out our favourites. And these were the pick of the bunch (in our opinion). A lot of black and white at this years Oscars but is that really a bad thing? Who did you love? Who did you hate? Have we gotten it completely wrong?! And was anyone else bothered by Angelina Jolie's leg that was always jutting out at an odd angle?!?!

Special mention to Bret McKenzie for his dapper suit and his awesome posing! Oh yeah and his oscar...

more than just a wish list...

Ok, this is more than a wish list. This is much more than that. These are the items that in the next couple of months I will be purchasing! I decided to to do this because I am trying to save for after college but I'm not gonna be able to not buy things, so I have decide on three items I really really want instead to buy over the next few months. Silly I know but this will stop me from impulse buying which is so important because that never ends well for me!

The first item are these amazing swing jeans from Vivien of Holloway. I have always wanted high waisted wide leg jeans so these are simply perfect for me. And it is always so comforting to buy from VoH because I know it is going to fit GREAT! The second is a dress I only spotted during the week from Warehouse but when I tried it on I fell in love... I decided that it would be brilliant for my end of year show in college so this baby simply had to go on the list. And finally another VoH piece, a black pencil skirt. My mum bought me a purple velvet corset for my birthday and I think it would look so good with this skirt (for my burlesque evenings of course) and I have a huge soft spot for their skirts because the hug all the rights bits and hide all the wrongs.

Am I the only one that does this? Please say no...

instagram...

Believe it or believe it not I am using instagram for my latest project in college. The photos that I need to take have to have a seventies/faded/blurred look and nothing seems to do that quite as good (and quite as easy) as the auld instagram app! Delighted so I am...

So I have been snapping left, right and center the past week getting the right shots for the project. And I just thought I'd show some of them to you. The project is based around the Edies of Grey Gardens, describing how they became the way they are and why. I could go into more detail but I'm sure that would bore you...

Anyway, enjoy!

wish I was wearing #9

Ever since I saw this outfit a few days ago I have been obsessed with emulating it. I think it is the perfect spring outfit. Comfy and cosy with the hope of something warmer. Slight problem though... I don't own either a jumpsuit or a chunky cardigan. Minor snag I am sure. This jumpsuit will be in my life soon (here's hoping!) Oh and that bunny ring too please!

How is this spring weather affecting your wardrobe?

graphic monday...

These are poster designs from Amy Rodchester. She had to create posters for the Newcastle Festival of Dance. I really think her final solutions are AMAZING! But you know me, give me pastels, clean type and geometric shapes and I'm anybody's!

Check out more of her work here.

beautiful...

Haven't been feeling the prettiest the past few days (anyone else get like that?) Sometimes I just feel too big for my skin... But when I saw Adele in American Vogue I felt right again, felt normal, felt beautiful. A girl, like me in so many ways, is flaunting her fabulous self in couture and making it her own. Hope she knows how she makes other girls her size feel... So beautiful.

pretty in pink...

A while back I had to do a piece with RTE on my worst fashion faux pas of my youth. I have to say it was hilarious thinking about these bright pink pants. Seriously, there are no words. Enjoy!

monochrome shackles...

This severe February chill we've been experiencing is making it very difficult for me to inject any sort of colour into my day to day outfits. Most of the colourful pieces I own are part of my summer wardrobe and it is WAAAAAAY too cold for such things. And I don't think I can afford one of those super cute pastel jumpers that I see floating around. Maybe I should start wearing summer dresses with chunky knits... Too much?

Damn my monochrome prison... I do like my stripes though :)

Shirt/Heels: Penneys
Skirt: Warehouse
Necklace/Ring: Gifts

graphic monday...

This is MUSE. A fashion magazine that is not afraid to have a bit of fun with type. Not enough magazines do this. Hopefully this will change. But for now look at the pretty type and the pretty pictures of pretty people.

feeling sleek...

Now I am no beauty guru. I know about as much as every other girl. But I was given one of these Sleek eye palettes for Christmas by a friend and I have to say I think it is amazing! I have pretty much used if everyday since I got it and that is no exaggeration. The colours are lovely, and they sit very well on my lids (you know what I mean- not having to apply loads to get a colour) and it lasts all day. I am definitely planning on making another purchase or two. And they are just under a tenner which I think is brilliant for twelve different eyeshadows.

Now I just have decide which one I want...

inspired today #3

What is inspiring me this week... Possibly the most beautiful make up (and face) from Keiko Lynn, A beautiful outfit and colour palette from Taghrid, simply divine opaque patterns (want this for my home) discovered on Pinterest, seriously craving these delicious cheesy/pepperoni-y rolls from The Girl Who Ate Everything and finally realising (thanks to Blau) that a biker jacket can dress down the prettiest of dresses, found on Blaubushka.
